About DEWA Academy

In line with the vision and directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, DEWA launched DEWA Academy as part of its strategy to shift Dubai’s energy sector to a new stage of growth and progress. This would be done by investing in young minds and preparing a generation of young citizens who are aware of the importance of professional work and the nation’s interest in research and affiliation to a scientific programme of the highest international standards.

For Emiratization:

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority launched DEWA Academy in 2013 in collaboration with the Business and Technology Education Council – UK. It aimed in preparing a new generation of professional citizens who understand the importance of work & the interest of the nation by offering a technical / vocational skills program that enhances the efforts of the UAE in localizing technical jobs in the energy and water sectors.

Students who complete their studies at the Academy are employed within the various departments of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority according to their specializations and the needs of the Authority. Since its establishment until today, the Academy has received hundreds of students who havegraduated and are now working in various divisions in DEWA: such as Generations; Distribution Power; Transmission Power and Water & Civil.

Local and international academic accreditation:

The Academy focuses on developing the capabilities of these National youth by providing vocational education and onsite training of the highest levels in the Academy’s state of the art workshops.The Academy provides the best Vocational education programs delivered by Professional Lecturers and supervised by the Ministry of Education UAE &the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai in addition to the International Standards verification done by the Pearson Business and Technology Education Council Team – UK.As part of its keenness to develop its curricula in line with the requirements of the labor market, the Authority's Academy has added a Project Management program for its distinguished students, thus becoming the first Academy in the United Arab Emirates to offer this type of program.

The Academy offers the program in collaboration with American Project Management Institute PMI - Pennsylvania, USA after becoming a certified training partner for project management teaching and accreditation activities.
